In a perfect world, wrinkles would be a thing of the past and we would all have flawless skin. But this world is far from perfect, and wrinkles are a thing we all have to deal with at some point in our lives. That’s why wrinkle treatments are so important: they help heal existing wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming. They’re a small step towards the flawlessly smooth skin we all hope for.
So to help you in your quest for skin perfection, we’ve created a list of the best wrinkle treatment options. While we recommend incorporating each one of these tips into your daily routine, even just one can help reduce the fine lines and wrinkles that form as you age.
Protect Your Skin From The Sun
The sun is hot! Even after traveling 92.96 million miles, its light can cause microscopic damage to unprotected skin in a matter of minutes. So imagine what can happen when you spend thirty, sixty, even one-hundred-and-twenty minutes soaking up the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. No wonder it’s one of the number one causes of wrinkles! And the thin, delicate skin around your eyes, mouth, and on your décolleté is especially susceptible to damage from the sun.
The best way to prevent sunlight from causing wrinkles is to avoid the sun altogether. Now we know that that’s not really feasible (or fun), so the next best thing is to cover up whenever you’re outside. Wear long sleeves, sunglasses, a scarf, even a wide-brimmed hat. And regardless of whether you choose to cover your skin or not, always wear an SPF 30 or 45+ sunscreen. We know that the thought of covering up when you’re outside may get you down, but think of it as a chance to show off your style. It’s also a great excuse to shop for new clothes and, best of all, you’ll be preventing skin damage and the wrinkles that go with it.
Enjoy 7-8 Hours Of Restful Sleep Every Night
Sleep hasn’t earned the moniker “beauty rest” without reason. The amount and quality of the sleep you get can actually make your skin smoother (making you more beautiful in the process). During certain stages of sleep, your body produces human growth hormone (HGH). While you may recognize HGH for being used to help athletes get an edge, it also helps skin stay thick, elastic, and less likely to wrinkle. And you don’t have to pop pills or inject it with needles to reap the rewards. All you have to do is get plenty of sleep each night.
Just so you see how important sleep really is, here’s what happens on a biological level if you don’t get enough sleep every night. Instead of producing HGH, your body produces the hormone cortisol which actually works to break down skin cells. That can lead to skin damage and wrinkle formation even at a young age.
To ensure that you get your seven to eight hours of sleep every night, we suggest always going to bed at the same time. Figure out what time you have to get up, and then count backward eight hours to determine when you have to be in bed. It may sound strange, but you can even set an alarm to remind you when it’s time to go to sleep. To make it easier to for you to get to restful sleep, deep and long sleep, here are some useful tips:
- Get some exercise during the day.
- Avoid big meals at night.
- Cut out the caffeine and alcohol after 5 p.m.
- Make your room as dark as possible.
- Keep your bedroom cool (72℉ or less).
- Don’t use electronic devices (especially devices with light) thirty minutes before bedtime.
- Breathe deeply when you first lie down to help your body relax.
To really fight wrinkles while you sleep, we recommend SiO Beauty’s new facial product series. We’ve tailor-made our FaceLift, BrowLift, NeckLift and Eye & Smile Lift patches to be just as effective as our original décolleté SkinPad when it comes to healing existing wrinkles and preventing new wrinkles from forming. Pick which areas need the most treatment, or wear all six at the same time for all-over healing, all night long.
Sleeping may not be the first thing that pops into your head when someone says “wrinkle treatment”, but it’s one of the more powerful, and most natural, options available. Make it a goal to sleep seven to eight hours every night, and watch your skin get smoother. Now, you don’t have to pop pills or inject your skin with needles to reap the rewards. All you have to do is get plenty of sleep each night.
Use A Healing Serum
Topical wrinkle treatments like serums, lotions, and creams are powerful weapons in the fight against aging skin. They can be especially useful on wrinkle-prone areas such as your upper chest and cleavage. These serums provide a combination of moisture and natural substances to keep your skin healthy and smooth as you age. If you’re not sure which serum is right for you, look for one with the following ingredients:
- Coconut oil
- Vitamin E
- Stevioside
- Licorice root
- Sunflower seed oil
- Shea butter
- Black, white, and green tea
- Aloe
- Vitamin C matrix
To save you time and a lot of squinting (how do they make that print so small?), we recommend SiO Beauty’s Décolleté Serum. It contains all of the above ingredients, plus other anti-aging goodies, and works in tandem with the next few solutions on this list to give you smooth, youthful décolleté skin regardless of your age. And the SiO Beauty Décolleté Serum doesn’t require constant reapplication every few hours like some serums do. Just one small dab rubbed into the skin of your chest every morning is enough to provide all-day healing and protection. That’s worth its weight in gold for the time savings alone!
Gently Exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin is an important step in the prevention and healing of stubborn wrinkles. When you exfoliate, you remove the top layers of dead skin cells and reveal the lower layers of healthy, radiant skin. Unfortunately, many women use an exfoliant that is too strong and may actually be doing damage to their skin instead of helping. This is especially true on the thin, delicate skin of the décolleté. This part of your body is subject to enough damage throughout the day from sun exposure, side sleeping, and environmental toxins. You don’t want to do anything to compound this damage.
A gentle exfoliant with glycolic and lactic acids is best for delicate areas such as your décolleté because it removes excess oil, dirt, toxins, and dead cells without harming the tender skin underneath. We recommend SiO Beauty’s Décolleté Cleansing Discs. For best results, use the cleansing discs before bed to lightly exfoliate, clear pores, and help repair the tender skin of your décolletage. That way, you’ll give your skin plenty of time to naturally heal itself while you sleep without interference from the microscopic dirt, sweat, toxins, and dead skin cells that have accumulated during the day.
Sleep On Your Back If Possible
Sleeping on your side night after night can lead to wrinkles and lines that become etched into the surface of your skin. Though these lines usually disappear soon after waking when you are young, your skin’s ability to get rid of those lines and smooth itself out starts to deteriorate with age.
A woman’s cleavage (her décolleté) is particularly susceptible to wrinkles caused by side sleeping because gravity pulls the top breast out of its natural position and folds it against the bottom breast. Because of this, the skin in between your breasts is folded like a piece of paper. Over time, that folding causes creases and lines that result in permanent wrinkles.
The best solution to this problem is to sleep on your back if at all possible. That said, we know that many women (us included) can’t get comfortable, can’t fall asleep, and can’t stay asleep when they’re on their back. Does that mean they have to settle for décolleté wrinkles? Certainly not! There is a solution.
A silicone chest pad like the SiO SkinPad, is worn on your chest while you sleep and provides support to the delicate skin of the décolleté so that it doesn’t fold, crease, and wrinkle. But the SiO SkinPad goes even further than just providing support. It’s special design actually heals existing wrinkles and prevents new ones from forming. It does this by a unique combination of Silicone (Si) and Oxygen (O). The SiO SkinPad creates a microclimate between the pad and your skin. This microclimate pulls moisture from the lower levels of your skin to the top layers where it naturally plumps skin, decreases line depth, and even heals wrinkles completely.
And for those of you without décolleté wrinkles (lucky you), the SiO SkinPad’s combination of support and hydration can prevent those wrinkles from forming even as you age. It’s the best wrinkle treatment you can get for your décolleté without succumbing to painful and expensive surgeries, injections, and laser therapies.
Put It All Together For Wrinkle-Free Skin
Though every option on this list is a great wrinkle treatment on its own, the real power lies in using all of them in combination. Luckily, it’s not that difficult to do.
- Exfoliate the skin on your décolleté before bed with the SiO Décolleté Cleansing Discs.
- Wear the SiO SkinPad plus one, two, three, or all of SiO’s many healing silicone patches for the seven or eight hours you’re asleep.
- Apply the SiO Serum to the skin on your décolleté in the morning.
- Top it all off with your favorite SPF 30 or 45 sunscreen.
It’s as simple as that! In an imperfect world, this is the perfect solution to all your wrinkle worries.
