Non-Surgical Eye and Brow Lift Solutions
Looking to tighten baggy eyelids, lift brows, or just tone down the wrinkles?
Aren't we all?
But something we certainly aren't all looking for is the nearest plastic surgeon. Perhaps there was once a time when the options were “settle or slice”, but that is no longer the case. While surgical eye lifts have certainly come a long way from the “clothespins at your hairline” look, they still involve risk. First of all, no way to avoid it: surgical procedures hurt. Plus, the outcome is drastic and sometimes unpredictable, and the cost is often enough to make your grandma blush. Luckily for us and the eyes of the world, dermatologists have made leaps and bounds past a traditional night cream and fingers crossed routine. There are now pain-free, affordable, non-invasive ways to get the lifted eye look you crave.
What Is An Eyelid or Brow Lift?
Whether it’s a surgical or non-surgical eye lift, the end results aim to be the same:
- Reduced horizontal wrinkle lines and creases across that develop on the forehead, between the eyes and on the bridge of your nose.
- Visibly decreased frown lines between eyebrows.
- Tightened skin on the upper and lower lids, giving your eyes a youthful and open appearance.
A traditional surgical brow lift requires anesthesia. Once the patient is properly sedated, incisions are made either at the hairline or approximately halfway back under the hair. The skin is then carefully moved back, eliminating the look of loose skin. Once the correct placement is reached, incisions are closed up with sutures, specialized clips, or adhesives. Recovery time is about 10-14 days, and you can expect discomfort and bruising during the recovery time.
A surgical eye lift differs in the placement of the incisions. This surgery can be done on upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Incisions are made directly on the lid and are specifically located in spots where any scarring should be masked by your natural eye creases. The incisions are closed with sutures or skin glue. While a lot of swelling may go down initially about 48 hours after the procedure, it usually takes a few weeks to fully recover. It's recommended that during that recovery time, patients avoid sun without sunglasses at all times, as the delicate skin will need to be protected as is heals into a tight, youthful look.
SiO Patches
Banish wrinkles and crinkles overnight with soft, medical grade silicone patches that smooth and plump fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes as you sleep and dream. These innovative, area targeted, at-home treatments can give you the results you hope for overnight. No surgeries needed. The SiO patches adhere to your skin, creating a microclimate that gives sagging skin a chance to normalize collagen, uninterrupted. And these patches are comfortable, so you should be able to easily get your beauty sleep while you get your beauty treat.
Bonus! SiO Patches come in a shape designed specifically for the brow, and a targeted eye lift design. The eyelift patches come in tandem with smile line patches, so you can get the most bang for your buck.
Fractional Laser Eye Lift
Fractional Laser eye lifts are a procedure that uses fractional laser technology to treat saggy and droopy skin around the eye. This treatment can be administered in outpatient skin clinic facilities, and virtually no downtime to recover. The laser encourages renewal in the affected skin, so your body doubles down on its natural instinct to repair damage. Be ready for some retina-protecting goggles, and some bright flashes of hot light, but an otherwise non-invasive solution for skin that's lost the pep in its step.Ultherapy
Another non-surgical option to lift your eyes and brows is Ultherapy. This is an FDA-approved treatment that tightens skin using focused sound waves. Deep tissue is targeted with ultrasonic imaging so that the technician can see in real time which areas need the most energy from the sound waves to give you the most effective outcome. Ultherapy can take anywhere from 70 to 90 minutes, and the final results are usually far more natural and subtle than that of a surgical lift.
Botulinum Toxin
Commonly associated directly with the brand Botox(R), the botulinum toxin has been used for quite some time now to eliminate drooping eyelids and brow wrinkles. It's FDA-approved, but it just barely squeaks by as “non-surgical”. Injectables are certainly less invasive than a full surgical procedure, and the results are immediately apparent, but with that, the patient must be ready to take on the risks of having a foreign substance out under the skin through needles. Surgical vs Non-Surgical: How Much Will It Cost
According to a 2016 survey by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a surgical eyelift can cost on average about $3,022. This does not include anesthesia or hospital room fees.
SiO BrowLift patch is available at SiObeauty.com for as little as $24.95, and the SiO Eye & Smile Lift packs are $14.95 for 2 reusable patches treatments, or $24.95 for 4 (prices reflect subscribe and save). Easily the most affordable non-surgical option on our list, SiO offers a chance for anyone to get comfortable beauty at home.
Fractional Laser Eye Lift can cost anywhere from $900 to $1,900, depending on where you go, and how much of your face you choose to have treated.
Ultherapy will put you back, on average, about $2,500. The price will vary depending on where you choose to have the treatment done.
Botulinum Toxin comes is at $9 to $20 per unit, but keep in mind that a full brow and eye lift should take approximately 55 units. So in the end, it's about $500 to $1,000.
No matter what your pain tolerance or your paycheck, there are effective ways to lift eyes for a bright, refreshed, and youthful you!
